Antique Auto Hub features The Threaded Hubcap Collection of Larry Stocker. Larry was a life-long car enthusiast and self-proclaimed "Hubcap Junkie". His hubcap collecting started back in 1965, when he came across an old, dilapidated Willys Whippet sitting on a Ranch in Southern California. He asked the owner if he could take a hubcap off of it, she said he could have the whole car! Just a hubcap would do. Shortly after, a co-worker left a 1926 Peerless hubcap on his desk. After doing some research on antique autos, he was hooked!
These pieces are from the early 1900's (1900-1932). During this time, there were literally hundreds, if not thousands of car companies. Only a fraction of these automobile companies survived. The Great Depression hit the automotive industry hard. Some of the companies were purchased and merged into the names we recognize today.
We hope you enjoy viewing these little gems as they give us a glimpse into the early years of automotive history.
